Established in 1965, DCEA, Inc. is a Community Action Agency serving 30 counties in Tennessee and 2 counties in Kentucky. The purpose of the Agency is to help families living in poverty improve their lives by providing them with assistance and services that they are not able to provide for themselves. The focus of the Agency is to help people help themselves.
Affordable Housing
Douglas-Cherokee Affordable Housing provides a safe and happy environment for developing new friendships and maintaining independence. Our apartments have the atmosphere needed to live life fully and are designed to enjoy all aspects of life. While living at one of our complexes, residents are provided with the opportunity to do things on their own and at the same time rest assured knowing that help is nearby if it is needed.
Some apartments are designed specifically for seniors with mobility,hearing, or visual impairments. Most of our apartments are on the ground floor. Each apartment complex is designed with all the conveniences for living a comfortable life.
Rent is based on income. Income limits do apply. Utilities are included at most of the complexes and appliances are furnished. Maintenance and yard work are also provided. Most apartment complexes have community rooms for get-togethers. Residents have covered dish dinners, game nights and many other activities. Families and friends are always welcome. Small pets are welcome at most locations with a pet deposit.
Our apartment complexes are managed by Affordable Housing. Affordable Housing is located in Morristown, Tennessee. The Affordable Housing staff have developed and managed rental housing for over 23 years. Affordable Housing is a non-profit management agent for 59 subsidized apartment complexes, totaling over 1,559 units in a 24 county area in East and Middle Tennessee.
