Job Title:          Mentor Coach-Early Head Start
Location:         Hamblen County

 

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field and experience in professional development coaching.

  • Obtain and retain CLASS Assessor Reliability certification. 

  • Experience in applying adult learning principals. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Knowledge and experience in data analysis. 

  • Ability to work with a diverse population of professional and para-professional teaching staff. 

  • Ability to communicate effectively to accomplish program goals.

  • Empathy for low income families.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop rapport with teaching staff to sustain a collaborative coaching relationship.

  • Conduct CLASS assessments and enter data into Head Start Child Plus Database.

  • Analyze CLASS assessment data and generate reports compared to CLASS national averages. 

  • Develop a coaching priority list and training plans from CLASS assessment results.

  • Complete weekly site visit logs that include specific coaching plans and resources to support staffs’ professional development.

  • Submit week observations/reports/schedule to Education Manager.

  • Support staff in developing individual professional goals with specific steps to achieve those 

  • Provide on-site coaching to support staff in achieving professional goals.

  • Utilize a variety of coaching methods and techniques that support staff’s individual learning styles.

  • Develop and conduct small and large group training on effective teaching practices. 

 

Hours and Benefits: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week, School Year; Non-Exempt.
